Each Word Heading 1 becomes a new chapter. Sub-headings (Heading 2, Heading 3) stay inside the chapter. If a document has no Heading 1, the whole file becomes a single chapter titled after its filename. When you drop multiple files, they are sorted by filename (natural order) and their chapters are concatenated. You can always split, rename, or reorder chapters in the editor.
Headings, paragraphs, bold / italic formatting, bulleted and numbered lists, tables, and hyperlinks are converted to clean EPUB markup. Images embedded inside the .docx are extracted and inlined. Complex Word features (comments, tracked changes, headers/footers, custom fonts) are dropped — edit metadata and the cover separately after import.
